2015 in a post.

I do suppose it's that time of the year again, where reflection is, I would say, the most adequate to do. 2015 has been a blessed year. When I mean blessed, I mean for myself. I've been given crazy opportunities to travel; far more than I can ever dream. It may have given me a brand new perspective in life -- a new mind, perhaps. At least that's what I hope I've acquired after all that. Thinking back on the year, I do suppose I've achieved a lot. I graduated with a second-upper; made my family, friends, and myself proud. I traveled parts of Europe; an experience I never imagined myself doing. I spent ten beautiful days in Japan; a dream I had convinced myself wasn't going to happen, but it did. I was accepted for that Masters degree; an opportunity I've never considered taking, but did. Wonderful relationships were made, celebrated and mourned over; a truly humbling experience. The world is also not without it's fair share of increasingly frequent...

Surviving - What it looks like to be without internet.

Literally. I am surviving without internet. It's been 10 days since the internet has been cut off, but it has felt like 10 weeks (hence why I have not been updating). Friends ask me in shock how I'm coping and what the heck I could possibly be doing with my time, I just shrug and tell them, "hey, I can sit for 12 hours playing fallout 3/Skyrim/Sims 3. After having a chat with a friend last night, only was I told and reminded I could still access the university libraries with my card and ID. I slapped my forehead in sudden realisation. 'Why didn't I even try the library?!' So here I am in the computer lab happily soaking and basking in the joy of internet usage and wifi. Another thing, at least my (now ex) housemates left me food in abundance (thanks guys!) Now I have more rice and spaghetti than I can ever eat in a whole year. (It's only 5 bags of 1kg rice a...

UK Guide - International Student Edition

Hi all! Today's post will be focusing on what to expect when coming to the UK to study, and what to bring and what not to bring. First of all, this country is not really all that hyped up to be. Please get that into your head. Britain is a fine country no doubt, but it rains 80% of the time, or looks like it'll rain and don't let the sunny day fool you. Rain will always be lurking around the next cloud that passes by. Right! Now that that's out of the way, let's get down to business *cue Captain Shang singing to his recruits in all his topless glory* Packing Depending on where you will be staying (halls or house) you will need to plan accordingly how much you'll bring with you across the ocean.  Living in halls or student accommodation usually means  moving in and out at least 3 times per academic year; Christmas break, Easter break, Summer break. So do plan ahead. Living in a house or flat with others means that you'll get to keep your stuf...
