Surviving - What it looks like to be without internet.

Literally. I am surviving without internet. It's been 10 days since the internet has been cut off, but it has felt like 10 weeks (hence why I have not been updating). Friends ask me in shock how I'm coping and what the heck I could possibly be doing with my time, I just shrug and tell them, "hey, I can sit for 12 hours playing fallout 3/Skyrim/Sims 3. No problem." then proceed to roll my aching shoulder from sitting too long in one setting. After having a chat with a friend last night, only was I told and reminded I could still access the university libraries with my card and ID. I slapped my forehead in sudden realisation. 'Why didn't I even try the library?!' So here I am in the computer lab happily soaking and basking in the joy of internet usage and wifi. Another thing, at least my (now ex) housemates left me food in abundance (thanks guys!) Now I have more rice and spaghetti than I can ever eat in a whole year. (It's only 5 bags of 1kg rice a...

To end with the past - welcoming the future.

Today, marks the day I (un)officially complete my undergraduate studies. It has been a fulfilling 2 years (I transferred) of various eye-opening experiences, opportunities and relationships forged that have opened my mind and allowed me to take a glimpse of the world and its many complexities. Okay I'm just sounding philosophical on purpose. Otherwise, I'm done! I would say I wish I did better, maybe scored more marks to have a solid instead of a borderline total average, but hey, if God gifts me with a miraculous 2:1 (second-upper), then I'm not complaining. Like I said, it's been a great 2 years here in Nottingham - I got to travel to Paris and perform at a few notable landmarks (a gruelling 12 hour trip - note to self, fly or take a train), I got to experience real snow for the first time ever, in my entire existance (for those who don't already know, I come from a country where Summer is perpetually 365 days a year, where it's either sweltering hot, or po...

End of the journey

I wonder if my post titles are beginning to sound more and more epic.. That's besides the point, I've just hired my graduation gown!! Now I'm really beginning to feel the surging excitement on graduating! (Refer to previous post) So, right now, I'm at that part where I have to find something to do for the next month or so to occupy my ample free time till graduation.  I could pick up coding - I saw a couple of my university friends doing that after their dissertations were done.. Or I could continue writing fiction. Hahaha! Though I am picking up Japanese again (yay!) and exercising (double yay!! Flabs and tummy fat begone! Hello firm calves.) Other than that, I guess there isn't much going on right now... Now to catch up with all the movies and drama that I've been deprived on.

Where's your Enthusiasm?

I find it strange. What you may ask? Well, I just finished my last ever assignment and have thus completed my undergraduate studies. Well, ain't that swell? You might congratulate. Yeah, but - I find it strange. It's strange how I don't feel excited. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited to graduate.  My family's flying across the globe to come see me strut across the stage and get my degree certificate, and we get to snap snazzy pictures of me in my graduation robe and I get to throw my graduation cap. Yes, it's definitely swell. But I can't seem to feel this ... you know how you expect yourself to feel this sudden rush of excitement - a surge of emotions after typing the final full stop on your essay/dissertation/thesis? Well, I expected no less, but as before, I don't get that. I wonder why? It's the same as when I first flew over to the ever cloudy country of fish and chips and curry. I expected myself to be as a wild animal in a city, star...
