End of the journey

I wonder if my post titles are beginning to sound more and more epic.. That's besides the point, I've just hired my graduation gown!! Now I'm really beginning to feel the surging excitement on graduating! (Refer to previous post) So, right now, I'm at that part where I have to find something to do for the next month or so to occupy my ample free time till graduation.  I could pick up coding - I saw a couple of my university friends doing that after their dissertations were done.. Or I could continue writing fiction. Hahaha! Though I am picking up Japanese again (yay!) and exercising (double yay!! Flabs and tummy fat begone! Hello firm calves.) Other than that, I guess there isn't much going on right now... Now to catch up with all the movies and drama that I've been deprived on.

Where's your Enthusiasm?

I find it strange. What you may ask? Well, I just finished my last ever assignment and have thus completed my undergraduate studies. Well, ain't that swell? You might congratulate. Yeah, but - I find it strange. It's strange how I don't feel excited. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited to graduate.  My family's flying across the globe to come see me strut across the stage and get my degree certificate, and we get to snap snazzy pictures of me in my graduation robe and I get to throw my graduation cap. Yes, it's definitely swell. But I can't seem to feel this ... you know how you expect yourself to feel this sudden rush of excitement - a surge of emotions after typing the final full stop on your essay/dissertation/thesis? Well, I expected no less, but as before, I don't get that. I wonder why? It's the same as when I first flew over to the ever cloudy country of fish and chips and curry. I expected myself to be as a wild animal in a city, star...

天皇の料理番 レビュー (Tennou no Ryouriban Review - mainly my thoughts, expect nothing professional)

As I prepared my dinner, (two waffles smothered in butter and sprinkled with some brown sugar, and a big juicy orange) I thought happily about finally being able to watch 佐藤健 (Satou Takeru) acting again. Then, as I made my way up the stairs to the attic that is my room, I quickly found the first episode and prepared to be blown away by awesomeness. But- let's just say, this drama is not what I initially thought it would be. I will now present to you, my review and thoughts about the first episode of 天皇の料理番 (Tennou no Ryouriban - The Emperor's Cook) Guess who's who! Right, first off, apologies for any spoilers. Second, this episode is over 94 minutes long - rivaling a Sherlock episode. I've not checked the length of the second ep, so this one could just be long because it's an introductory episode (more like a mini movie. heh). Adorable Vicious manslayer Look at this cutie 佐藤さん plays as Tokuzou, the bumbling village idiot. Yep, you read it rig...

I hate these walls.

Girl, I can CLEARLY hear every, single, damn thing you say (and laugh) through these freaking thin floor and walls. Keep your noise down, it's midnight! The only reason I'm not bothered to tell her to be quiet is cause that's her general voice level, so it wouldn't make a difference anyway.

It's probably something I read today.

'Ah..' I thought. 'It's so noisy outside.' Everyone's outside, I figured. Having lot's of fun and laughing loudly as they played a game. Why am I not with them? I wondered to myself as I sit here, on the floor with my back leaned against the wall in this messy female dorm room. I don't really understand - I should be out there in the lounge laughing along with them. But, why then am I not? Don't get me wrong - I don't find them repelling, neither am I anti-social. In fact, I'm pretty social. So social, that I would pine for human interaction with close friends for days on end. But - I guess, thinking about it now, that's probably the reason why I'm sitting here, alone, in this room. I'm selective. Very, selective. I think I'm being selfish - nitpicking who I want in my life. I think it's unfair (to others) that I'm acting this way. Then change, I hear you say. That's another thing. I don't feel like ch...

Singing Hungry

'Mm. It's been awhile since I stepped into the music department,' I thought to myself as I observed the supposed members of the choir whom I've never seen before. Yep. Another one of those sessions of working with people you don't know. It's strange to feel secluded in a tiny public space - especially when you are bound to get to know the people around you. Oh, one familiar face. Not that we've ever spoken, but oddly enough I've seen her around campus more times than I've ever smiled at her. Man, these people look skillfully intimidating. Yep. Tour is going to be smashing. --- Well, it isn't so bad after all. Putting aside these feelings of awkwardness once the music starts and the voices start soaring, it's just pure magic. Learning Latin is also a plus side. --- Singing in 3 different timings is such a pain in the brain. And ear. --- Oh, and Russian. --- The best part about being alone - shamelessly having a diva of a time doing ka...

Musings

"It's too cold to do anything." - what I say 99% of the time. --- My digestive track needs to stop singing at the most inappropriate times. --- "Ugh, can I not?" - what I say the remaining 1% of the time. --- I can see myself owning a collection of kimono or yukata. Or just a ridiculous amount of clothes.
